The minimum charge on one-off work is £67. Parking or congestion charges, where a visit needs them, are added at cost. Move-out cleans carry our 48-hour re-clean. If the check-out report flags anything we cleaned, we return and re-clean it at no charge.
What the Watford housing stock does to a cleaning round
The older streets here went up for the printing and brewing trades: long runs of two up two down terrace through Callowland and West Watford, and nearly all of them have since gained a rear extension and a loft room. That extra floor matters more than it sounds. A terrace with a loft conversion has three flights of stairs, so a carpet booking that sounded like one flight on the phone turns into £123 of stairs before anybody has counted a bedroom.
West of the centre the picture changes completely. Cassiobury and Nascot Wood have the wide Edwardian and 1920s avenues, larger rooms, and a good deal more wool underfoot, quite a lot of it pale and walked on straight from the park. Garston, Meriden and Leggatts are post-war semis and low rise blocks with fitted kitchens of a certain age. Then there are the towers that have gone up around Watford Junction and the ring road since the 2010s, several thousand flats, and they turn over constantly.
The water is hard. Hertfordshire sits on chalk and Affinity Water supplies the town, so shower trays crust up round the waste, glass screens go cloudy, and kitchen tiling picks up a grey film that a cloth does nothing to. Anything we do in a bathroom gets an acid descaler and time to work on it, because the inventory clerk will run a finger along the screen and you will be the one paying for that.
A large slice of our work is rented property. West Watford and the Callowland terraces carry a lot of licensable HMOs, let to staff at Watford General, people working out at the Leavesden studios, and West Herts College students who take a room rather than a hall place. Room changeovers there get booked at four days notice. We do a great many of them, and they sit alongside the quieter regular work over in Cassiobury and the match day scheduling problems down in Holywell.

Is Watford a hard water area?
Yes. Affinity Water supplies the town off the Hertfordshire chalk, so it is hard. That is why bathrooms here need an acid descaler with dwell time rather than a spray and a cloth, and why we condition rinse water before it goes onto a wool carpet.
Do I need to sort out a parking permit?
In the lettered Watford Borough zones, usually yes. A resident visitor voucher covers the visit and your household allowance is 400 hours a year. Where a voucher is not possible we park outside the zone and walk the kit in.
How soon can you come?
